Recruitment privacy notice
Online registration and document submission are temporarily unavailable. Please contact AKIU for enquiries about applications and data protection.
Who manages your information
AKIU Business & Corporate Services · Belas, Benfica, Luanda, Angola · privacy@akiubcs.co.ao.
Purpose and data requested
AKIU uses your contact details, professional experience and selected documents to manage your applications and communicate with you. Access to your candidate account requires individual authentication. We request name, e-mail, telephone, country of residence, CV and relevant professional supporting documents. Do not submit identity, banking, criminal-record or medical documents at this stage.
Legal basis and optional choices
Processing an application is framed as steps taken at your request before a potential employment contract, subject to AKIU’s documented legal review. Reading this notice is separate from optional permission to retain your profile for future opportunities. Refusing or withdrawing that permission does not affect current applications. No marketing consent is requested. Professional matching provides explained recommendations; it does not automatically reject candidates or make recruitment decisions.
Access, recipients and documents
Access is restricted to authorised recruitment staff for the vacancy. CVs and professional supporting documents are private and become downloadable only after security checking and reconstruction into a safe PDF. Optional videos have a separate security check and are shared only when selected and authorised. Documents uploaded to one application are not automatically shared with another client. Before identifiable information is shared with a client, AKIU must clarify the recipient and purpose.
Independent profiles and direct employer applications
You may create a candidate account without selecting a vacancy. Skills, languages, preferred locations, experience and availability are optional professional profile information. Your profile is private. Recommendations compare the information you provide with published job requirements; age, gender, nationality, health and other sensitive traits are not matching criteria.
For a vacancy posted directly by a company, its identity is shown to you before submission. Only when you request that application will its authorised account be able to view your name, e-mail, telephone and professional profile. Creating a profile alone does not grant companies access. You select the verified CV and any optional supporting files or video for each application. You can withdraw your application to stop the company's access through the platform; professional profile updates are reflected in active applications.
Portfolio, talent discovery and assisted matching
Employment history, education, certifications, portfolio links and a presentation video help you describe your experience. Video is optional and is never used to infer personality, emotion, health or suitability. External portfolio links open on their respective websites. You control optional discovery by verified companies and can revoke it in your account. Contact details are disclosed through discovery only after you accept a company’s request.
AI-assisted recommendations, when available and authorised by you, use structured professional requirements and skills. CV files, video, name and contacts are not sent for that analysis. You can use the basic comparison without AI. Decisions remain with recruiters. Purchasing career services does not affect recommendations or selection priority.
Evidence and assessments
You choose the evidence shared with each application. Declared experience is distinguished from confirmations by an authorised reviewer, with a date, source and validity. A security-checked file is not proof that a qualification is genuine. Reference contacts require your separate permission. Practical assessments use a stated brief and criteria; results and feedback are reviewed by people. Preparation purchased as a career service is separate and does not feed hiring scores.
Redeployment and aggregated sector insights have separate optional preferences. Aggregate reports use minimum sample thresholds and omit identity and small groups. These choices can be revoked; refusing them does not affect an application. Availability confirmations expire and are invalidated when the underlying declaration changes.
Retention
AKIU has defined a five-year retention model: three active years after the candidate’s last meaningful activity, followed by two inactive years without new activity. The version applicable to your account and its exact dates will be presented before registration opens.
Unverified or rejected documents are kept for up to 30 days under the applicable policy. Unsafe files are not made available. Your account shows its retention dates and advance notices. Records connected to employment, offers, ongoing assessment or an unresolved rights request require a separate review, without extending their eligibility for new opportunities.
These are AKIU’s internal policy periods, not a general statutory retention period for CVs. Backups, audit records and copies shared for a specific application have separate controlled disposal requirements. Contact privacy@akiubcs.co.ao to clarify the treatment of your records.
Service providers and transfers
Information about service providers, processing locations and transfers will be available in this notice before online registration opens.
Separate choices and limited collection
Applying for a role, joining the optional talent pool and receiving marketing are separate purposes. Declining future opportunities does not prevent an application and does not subscribe you to marketing. Initial recruitment uses relevant professional information; identity and medical documentation is collected only through an appropriate restricted process when needed. You can request a human explanation or review of an assisted recommendation through the privacy contact.
Your rights and human review
You can access and export your data, withdraw an application, change optional preferences, and request correction, restriction or deletion through your account or privacy@akiubcs.co.ao. AKIU reviews requests and explains any necessary retention. You may also contact Angola’s Data Protection Agency (APD). Recruitment decisions remain with authorised people.
